In 2001, Chapter
President Toby Berberich established the Northern Polk County Youth Board.
The purpose of the Youth Board is to introduce our future generations
to the outdoors, pheasant hunting, and organizing a youth banquet, while
emphasizing habitat preservation for pheasants and all wildlife.
Here are some programs that the youth board has been involved with:
- Hunting & Conservation Camp
- Youth Pheasant Hunt
- Wal-Mart Earth Day
- Urban Environmental Day
- Trap Shoots
The board meets on an “as needed” basis. It is anticipated
that the board will meet at least four times each year and the meetings
will last approximately two hours.
Board members learn how to: work as a team, develop a plan, establish goals,
monitor budgets, participate in volunteer activities, and make presentations.
